Purpose of the Job

The Treasury Manager – Cash management  is responsible for managing the group’s overall liquidity position, cash forecasting, cash pooling, funding requirements, foreign exchange exposures, and treasury-led working capital initiatives.

The role provides clear visibility over current and future cash positions across the group, identifies funding surpluses and shortfalls, improves the extraction and deployment of cash, and supports the raising of external or internal funding when required.

A key priority is the automation and digitalization of treasury processes, particularly cash flow forecasting, liquidity reporting, funding-gap analysis, bank data integration, and management dashboards. The Treasury Manager will use SAP, treasury-management systems, banking platforms, analytics tools, and automation solutions to improve forecasting accuracy, reduce manual effort, and strengthen decision-making.

The role also supports the identification and delivery of value-adding treasury initiatives, including cash pooling, supply-chain finance, working capital releases, early-payment programs, rebates, receivables solutions, supplier finance, dynamic discounting, intercompany funding, liquidity optimization, and foreign exchange risk management.

The successful candidate will combine strong treasury knowledge with commercial awareness, analytical capability, systems understanding, and a practical approach to process improvement.

Job Description

Group Cash and Liquidity Management

  • Manage the group’s daily, weekly, monthly, and longer-term liquidity position.
  • Identify surplus cash, trapped cash, underutilized balances, and avoidable overdrafts.
  • Optimize the allocation of cash across the group.
  • Prepare regular liquidity reports for senior management.

Automated Cash Flow Forecasting

  • Own and continuously improve the group’s cash flow forecasting process.
  • Cash pooling and liquidity structures and cash extraction from subsidiaries.
  • Develop short-term, medium-term, and long-term cash forecasts.
  • Maintain rolling forecasts covering daily, weekly, monthly, and annual horizons.
  • Automate the extraction and consolidation of forecast data from SAP, treasury systems, banking platforms, planning tools, and subsidiary submissions.
  • Work with subsidiaries to improve the quality and timeliness of submissions.
  • Review the commercial, legal, tax, regulatory, accounting, and operational implications of pooling structures.

Cash Extraction and Repatriation

  • Identify and execute opportunities to extract surplus cash from subsidiaries.

Foreign Exchange Risk Management

  • Identify, measure, monitor, and report the group’s foreign exchange exposures.
  • Develop visibility over transactional, translational, and economic FX risks.
  • Monitor natural hedges and opportunities to match inflows, outflows, debt, and operating costs by currency.
  • Coordinate settlement and confirmation of FX transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with dealing mandates, counterparty limits, and approval requirements.
  • Support or execute approved financial hedging instruments,

Treasury Technology and SAP

  • Act as a treasury subject-matter expert for SAP-enabled liquidity and cash-management processes.
  • Lead or support treasury digitalization initiatives.
  • Review end-to-end treasury processes and identify inefficiencies, risks, and control gaps.
  • Support internal and external audits of liquidity, funding, FX, and treasury processes.
  • Maintain complete documentation for treasury transactions and approvals.
  • Ensure funding and hedging activities are properly authorized.
  • Monitor compliance with debt covenants and facility conditions.
  • Support bank confirmations and treasury control testing.
  • Identify and remediate treasury control weaknesses.
  • Ensure treasury data is complete, accurate, and auditable.
  • Support policy updates based on changing business requirements, markets, or regulations.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Treasury, Banking, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications are advantageous, including Certified Treasury Professional, Association of Corporate Treasurers qualification, SAP treasury or finance certification or Project-management or data-analytics certification.

 

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate treasury, liquidity management, funding, cash management, foreign exchange, working capital, or corporate finance.
  • At least 2 – 4 years in a managerial, regional, or group-level role.
  • Experience in a multinational or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong experience in cash forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Demonstrated experience with cash pooling and intercompany funding.
  • Experience identifying and managing funding requirements.
  • Exposure to bank financing, loan facilities, or fundraising processes.
  • Strong knowledge of foreign exchange risk management and hedging.
  • Experience delivering working capital or supply-chain finance initiatives.
  • Experience using SAP or a comparable enterprise resource planning system.
  • Proven involvement in treasury automation, digitalization, or process transformation.
  • Experience working with banks, technology teams, and senior finance stakeholders
