Purpose of the Job

The Procurement Excellence Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing procurement processes across the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure alignment with company strategy and procurement goals, driving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. The ideal candidate will have profound knowledge of SAP Ariba upstream and downstream functionality, ensuring the effective management and utilization of the tool.

Job Description

  • Lead the development and improvement of procurement processes, manuals, and procedures.
  • Establish clear guidelines and protocols for procurement activities to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and retention for the procurement community.
  • Collaborate with IT to implement efficient systems and tools, focusing on transparency and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT in the management of the SAP Ariba tool.
  • Act as the go-to expert for procurement when new systems and tools are introduced.
  • Provide tools for operational reporting, including spend analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop procurement plans and generate reports to track performance, cost savings, and KPIs by setting targets, monitoring progress, and providing insights.
  • Oversee relationships with providers, evaluate their performance, and manage risks through supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance evaluation.
  • Handle the lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and cost-effectiveness through contract creation, negotiation, approval, monitoring, and renewal.
  • Execute sourcing strategies and processes to acquire goods and services effectively, including sourcing events and e-auctions for Indirect and Direct sourcing teams.
  • Manage procurement-related projects, ensuring efficient processes and successful implementation.
  • Lead change management initiatives, providing training and communication to drive process improvement.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with procurement processes across all global locations.
  • Collaborate with Finance to optimize the effectiveness of Purchase to Pay (P2P) processes and tools.
  • Review audit reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and systems, including SAP.
  • Profound knowledge of Ariba upstream and downstream functionality.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Experience in a global environment is a plus.
