Purpose of the Job
The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Lead Analyst will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective processes to track, manage, and optimize IT assets throughout their lifecycle—from procurement to disposal. This role ensures compliance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency by providing accurate inventory, license management, and governance.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Customer:
- Be proactive in understanding IT asset management requirements from stakeholders including Finance, Procurement, IT teams, Compliance, and Leadership.
- Support and coordinate audits (internal and external) by providing accurate asset and compliance data.
- Strengthen vendor relationships through proactive issue resolution, process improvement, and performance management.
People:
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to reconcile purchase records and usage.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by gathering feedback on existing processes and identifying optimization opportunities.
Operations:
Asset Management and Compliance:
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of hardware and software assets across the organization.
- Monitor software licenses and ensure compliance with vendor agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Track asset lifecycle stages (procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal).
- Implement and manage ITAM tools and processes for accurate data capture and reporting.
Vendor Management:
- Support engagement with vendors on license agreements, asset management compliance issues, and relationship optimization, in cooperation with D&T Vendor function and vendor primary points of contact.
Data and Analysis:
- Generate reports and dashboards for management on asset status, compliance, and optimization metrics.
- Utilize analytical tools and methodologies to interpret data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and insights.
- Prepare reports summarizing key findings and metrics, providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement solutions to streamline asset management operations and enhance efficiency.
- Lead initiatives for license optimization and asset utilization improvements.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Engage cross-functionally with IT teams, business units, finance, procurement, and external vendors to support operational goals.
Financial Result:
- Identify and deliver cost savings through license optimization, asset utilization improvements, and elimination of redundant assets.
- Support budget management through accurate tracking and forecasting of asset-related expenditure.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4–8 years of experience in IT Asset Management or related domain.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with ITAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Device42, SCCM, Intune).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Experience with software / SAAS (eg SAP and Microsoft) compliance audits.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
