Purpose of the Job

The Role responsible to coordinate and manage the work of accounting clerks who are responsible for accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general accounting transactions ensuring the timely and accurate completion of various accounting activities. You perform a variety of regular and ad hoc accounting and financial reporting tasks, including report generation, analysis, and revision as required

Job Description

  • Check daily work to ensure having accurate data into the system
  • Ensure that all financial entries are approved as per budget
  • Ensure having proper internal controls to maintain financial data security
  • Control the intra-stations monthly reconciliation and payments
  • Assist in applying monthly closing procedures
  • Ensure that all accounts receivable invoices and incoming payments are posted to the correct general ledgers account
  • Provide accounting/financial support to the other functions and teams and external parties as needed
  • Ensure proper account reconciliation with suppliers and vendors to reflect accurate figures in the financial system
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditor and provide them with needed data as required
  • Assist in resolving suppliers’ issues and/or better cater for their needs in coordination with the direct manager
  • Generate accounting reports to direct Managers as required
  • Set KPI’s and conduct performance review for direct reports
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve the objectives

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, ACCPAC is a plus)
  • 4-5 years’ years of relevant working experience, preferably in the logistics and shipping industry
