Purpose of the Job

Responsible for overseeing freight operations, managing service providers, optimizing costs, and ensuring the smooth movement of shipments across the region. This role involves driving strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and enhancing operational efficiency while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Job Description

•    Oversee end-to-end freight operations across the region, ensuring seamless movement of cargo.
•    Monitor and improve service levels, ensuring timely delivery and high customer satisfaction.
•    Optimize freight routes and carrier selection to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
•    Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and trucking providers.
•    Negotiate contracts, rates, and service-level agreements with logistics partners.
•    Conduct regular performance reviews of carriers and implement corrective actions when needed.
•    Analyze freight costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
•    Monitor budget and financial performance, ensuring cost control and profitability.
•    Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to optimize freight spend and drive savings.
•    Develop and implement strategies to enhance freight operations and regional logistics.
•    Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within freight operations.
•    Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and reduce transit times.
•    Work closely with internal teams, including supply chain, sales, and customer service, to align freight operations with business needs.
•    Act as the primary point of contact for freight-related escalations and problem resolution.
•    Provide reports and insights on freight performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
•    Ensure all freight activities comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and safety standards.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

•    Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    10+ years’ experience in freight, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a regional role.
•    Strong understanding of freight forwarding carrier negotiations, customs clearance, and international trade laws.
•    Experience working with air, ocean, and land freight operations.
•    Proficiency in freight management systems (FMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP software.
