As the Operations Performance Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing operational data, identifying performance trends and providing insights to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. Your role will be crucial in supporting data-driven decision-making and improving key performance indicators across our operations.

Job Description

This is a Nightshift position designed to optimise the Courier Franchisee and Outside Hire fleet operations to reduce costs, increase the average parcel volumes for delivery, reduce Courier Franchise subsidies, eliminate day rates, ensure all aged freight is scanned into courier bays and ensure inbound Priority parcels are accounted for and out for delivery on time. The role is also responsible for the manual non-conveyable bay sorts and the setup and planning for the morning fleet operations for greater efficiency and cohesion to reduce downtime, increase productivity and reduce load times for all couriers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Courier Franchisee delivery volumes and remuneration are optimised to remove subsidies by delivering out of territory freight.
  • Target 130-140 parcels per Outside Hire/Contractor run by redistributing volumes from other COT runs to increase productivity and reduce fleet numbers which will enable the business to establish more profitable territories for sale to prospective Courier Franchisees. 
  • Ensure “At Fault” aged freight is scanned into bays for delivery to keep the volume within target levels.
  • Ensure Priority deliveries are scanned into bays and onboard on time daily
  • Ensure the morning operation setup is complete before 4.30am in all depots and depots are cleared of rubbish and walkways clear

  • Ensure all WHS policies and procedures are adhered to always.
  • Actively promote and ensure a safe environment is maintained always.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Regularly check your employees and contractor’s wellbeing “R U OK”.
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks that include relevant safety topics


Maintenance & Training requirements:

  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance checklist utilising guidance from Falcon Autotech and Sydney operations teams.
  • Document all relevant system electrical checks, downtime and other system concerns into the approved internal database to mitigate future issues.
  • Implement a proactive management system within the maintenance programme that targets future electrical components of the automation that may be at fault.
     

Operational Excellence requirements:

  • Implement and reinforce “best practice” systems and procedures to continually improve business unit performance resulting in higher productivity through efficiency, and reduced errors through feedback, monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide valuable data and insight into fleet optimisation and improvements to territories to increase Courier Franchisee earnings and reduce outside hire costs while improving territory performance.
  • Liaise with all team members to maintain correct language and terminology relating to business practices to avoid confusion and miscommunication.

  • Undertake analysis and daily/weekly/monthly reporting of results and activity which relates to freight sortation, WHS matters, workforce improvements and challenges.
  • Provide detailed and relevant reports aimed to keep employees and contractors aligned to business targets.
  • Provide frequent feedback to all employees and contractors regarding performance and continually reinforce business changes to improve knowledge, skill and compliance.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • At least 3 years of experience in operations analysis, business analytics, or a related field, with a proven track record of leveraging data to drive operational improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, data analytics, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in analytics or operations management are a plus
