Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the Operations Manager - Linehaul role is to support the National Linehaul Manager in managing the Aramex Linehaul NZ network on a day-to-day operational basis, balancing the financial and service goals of the business. The Operations Manager - Linehaul will also support with the Domestic Freight initiative for Aramex NZ.
Job Description
- Manage the day-to-day capacity planning and excess unit planning of the Linehaul Network between RFs and Contractors, including ensuring the remuneration tracker is regularly updated.
- Supports the National Linehaul Manager with managing the Linehaul Contractors, including reporting service incidents and highlighting any compliance concerns.
- Manage all Contractor Drivers, including but not limited to, authorizing new and temporary drivers, regularly checking correct licenses and endorsements, reviewing driver log-books, and any required performance management.
- Manage all Ferries bookings and schedules to support the movement of the Aramex Linehaul Network.
- Manage Domestic Freight customers including negotiating jobs and pricing, coordinating with RFs, contractors and external companies, and ensure all have completed inductions, and have the required passes and paperwork.
- Oversees the RF Operated Hubs and Mini Hubs, providing operational direction as required and first point of contact for any operational issues.
- Monitors that load plans are being received from RF and/or Contractors daily and in the correct format for all movements.
- Manage all Company Trailers, including but not limited to, compliance, repairs, maintenance, and servicing.
- Ensures all Company Vehicles have ERoaed functioning and Contractors have ERoad units installed, undertaking regular reviews on ERoad and addressing any issues to ensure compliance.
- Reviews Inspect App for any reported damage and actions as required.
- Oversees the management and maintenance of cages across the Aramex Network.
- Ensures the required scanning procedures are followed and scanning compliance for all freight across the Aramex Linehaul network.
- To promote and comply with the Aramex Oceania Health & Safety program, including supporting the implementation and ongoing execution of modules and initiatives across the network, and driving a safety focused culture.
- To consistently demonstrate the leadership behaviours and be a role model within the business.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
- 5 years’ industry experience in transport and logistics
- Forklift Experience to a reasonable level
- Class 5 License preferable
- Strong planning and organisation skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to adjust to evolving demands while maintaining consistency and performance.
