Purpose of the Job

The Express Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely handling of express shipments, ensuring smooth operations throughout the delivery process. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations, improving service quality, optimizing resources, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations. The Express Operations Leader will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Lead the daily operations of the Express Division, ensuring timely delivery and high service quality.
  • Oversee and manage the sorting, distribution, and delivery of express packages.
  • Monitor Operational KPIs such as delivery times, service levels, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Supervise, Mentor, and Coach the operations team, including drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction within express operations.
  • Implement best practices in operations to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Ensure the integration of technology solutions to enhance operational workflows.
  • Work closely with the customer service team to resolve escalations related to express movements and deliveries.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing issues promptly and improving delivery reliability.
  • Plan and manage resources effectively, including vehicles, manpower, and equipment, to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of equipment and vehicles used in express delivery.
  • Assist in developing and managing the budget for express operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor expenses and seek ways to optimize costs without compromising service quality.
  • Ensure all express operations comply with local regulations and international shipping standards.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, couriers, and transportation vendors.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • Qualification in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration will be advantageous.
  • 5+ years’ experience in logistics or express delivery operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
