Job Title: Multi–Modal Exports Executive

Responsible to: Multi-Modal Export Manager

Responsible for: Air & Ocean Export Freight Main

Location: Manchester International Office Centre (MIOC), Styal Road, but the postholder may be required to visit other sites as appropriate for the satisfactory performance of their duties and responsibilities.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Booking shipments with airlines, ocean carriers and NVOCC’s

2. Negotiate rates

3. Arrange collections with sub-contractors

4. Booking of shipments into operating system

5. Handling customer enquiries

6. Preparation of entries via ICE system

7. Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers

8. Follow up shipment status, identify incidents and ensure resolution of incidents

9. Create and issue quotations to prospects, customers and overseas offices

10. Ensure all quotations are followed up and actioned accordingly

11. Liaise with origin offices, managing new bookings, receive pre-alerts

12. Create jobs in the operating system

13. Submit customs clearances using ICE

14. Checking supplier invoices versus accruals

15. To ensure original documents are posted accordingly for release

16. To update and maintain customer schedules

17. To cost and invoice files

18. To maintain and pass KPI service standards

19. Arrange the release and transportation of goods received to cargo importers.

20. You will be expected to negotiate terms and rates, so it is important that you have previous experience in this area and are numerate.

21. You must also be familiar with industry standard computer programs and be able to operate standard systems pertinent to the job.

22. To communicate and update customers on a regular basis on the status of their shipments

23. Optimize routes and identify carriers offering better / alternative routes

 

Additional Requirements:

1. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the postholder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Company from time to time. Subject to adequate experience and/or training.

2. To participate in the annual performance appraisal and objective setting scheme.

3. To work in accordance with all company policies including Health and Safety, Employment, Staff, Quality and Environmental.

4. It is important that during the employment with the Company and any time thereafter, that any information relating to the affairs of the Company is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.

5. To be active in the Account Management Program and support the Business Development Team.

6. To have a detailed knowledge of and apply the company’s Business Plan in all aspects of development.

7. Support the Business Development Team / Key Account Managers as necessary

8. Good communication skills, as you'll be liaising with a variety of people, clarity in communication, as problems could arise through inaccuracies
