Operations Leader

Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with leadership team to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  • Assist in managing the site’s cost reduction programs. Coordinate the cost reduction strategy aligning with budget and the continuous improvement calendar in order to achieve commitments.
  • Work across functional areas to develop effective solutions aligned with company and business unit/department objectives.
  • Manage and monitor project or program schedules and progress to ensure expected results are delivered on time and to budget.  Maintain, adjust and communicate updates to project plans as needed.
  • Through the application of Lean concepts, lead Kaizen events and key Six Sigma and/or Lean projects of varying size and scope to identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs and maximize asset utilization.
  • Support other Operational Excellence projects and Kaizen events as required.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and consult with business partners to develop solutions for improved efficiencies.
  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping as a planning tool to prioritize and select the continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead/work with functional teams to streamline processes to improve customer experience and enable profitable growth.
  • Develop mechanisms and lead initiatives and events to help the organization identify improvement opportunities that reduce/eliminate non-value added activities within production and business processes, (such as 5S, Visual Management, Daily Management Systems, Process Controls and Root Cause Analysis).
  • Provide ongoing support to multiple project teams.
  • Works with plant leadership in installing organizational supports for Operational Excellence (reviews, communications, rewards, software, etc.).
  • Leads improvement projects of significant size and scope.
  • Communicates Operational Excellence information/news to plant management, staff, and employees.
  • Assist in designing new procedures and methods for operational processes.
  • By utilizing projects charters with deliverables, will work with site leaders to identify, modify, and sustain desired changes including reducing waste and improving inefficiencies.
  • Mentor employees to realize benefits from all continuous improvement initiatives and act as a change agent to the site/organization.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and prioritize improvement opportunities with the management team.
  • Operations Capacity settings and forecasting business to meet the capacity.
