Purpose of the Job

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing and growing key customer accounts within the Oil & Gas and Freight Services segment. This role focuses on maintaining long-term relationships with strategic clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth. The KAM ensures customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and alignment with company sales strategies.

Job Description

Account Management & Customer Retention

  • · Manage key accounts within the Oil & Gas and Freight sectors, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service performance.
  • · Develop a deep understanding of customers’ logistics and transportation needs, providing tailored end-to-end solutions.
  • · Conduct regular business reviews and performance evaluations with key clients to strengthen partnerships and identify growth opportunities.
  • · Work closely with operations, customer service, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution and prompt issue resolution.

Business Development (Hunting for New Business)

  • · Actively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in the Oil & Gas and Freight industries.
  • · Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through networking, market research, and industry engagement.
  • · Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and commercial offers to prospective clients.
  • · Keep updated on market developments, competitor activities, and customer trends to identify potential areas for business expansion.

Sales Execution & Performance Management

  • · Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets through effective account management and business development.
  • · Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage customer data, track opportunities, and report on sales performance.
  • · Support the rollout of commercial initiatives, pricing strategies, and process improvements to enhance competitiveness.
  • · Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for management review.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • · Partner with internal teams (operations, procurement, project logistics, etc.) to ensure excellent service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • · Provide feedback to management on market trends, customer demands, and potential areas for service enhancement.
  • · Support capability-building initiatives to strengthen the sales team’s knowledge of freight forwarding and oil & gas logistics solutions.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • · Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • · Experience: 5–8 years of experience in Key Account Management or Sales, preferably within the Oil & Gas logistics or Freight Forwarding industry.
  • · Proven success in managing strategic accounts and developing new business in complex, project-based environments.
  • · Strong understanding of freight operations (air, sea, and land), project logistics, and oil & gas supply chain requirements.
  • · Proficient in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • · Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • · Customer-focused, analytical, and results-driven mindset.
  • · Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
