Last Mile Innovation Specialist



This role is responsible for managing daily operational activities for Fleet and Spot across the entity.  This is done by distributing tasks between LMI coordinators and ensuring that Fleet and Spot operations are running smoothly and effectively along with conducting periodic station visits for auditing and process improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead LMI coordinators in addition to resolving their administrative issues.
  • Ensure that Fleet and Spot operations are running smoothly across the entity.
  • Allocate LMI coordinators across stations and outlets to meet the agreed Fleet share.
  • Ensure the fulfillment is above 90% across the entity and report any supply issues to the LMI Analytics team.
  • Support ground operations to cover any deficit in capacity through Fleet.
  • Analyze processes and identify potential areas of improvement on a ground level.
  • Conduct physical audits across the entity to ensure all LMI SOPs are applied correctly and effectively.
  • Ensure all security measures are met as aligned with the entity’s HSSE team.
  • Follow up with ground operations regarding shipment health on a branch level and ensure they meet job health standards.
  • Train new LMI coordinators on the ground on how to conduct daily LMI operation activities.
  • Support other LMI functions in parallel with regular duties.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum requirement is a Matric (Grade 12)
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills – Excellent command of the English language (verbal & written)
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to function in a pressurized environment
  • Computer Proficiency – Microsoft suite (including Word, Excel and Email)
