Purpose of the Role:
The Air Export Specialist will be responsible for coordinating all logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as anticipating and planning for all details that will ensure successful delivery. The role will organize and oversee the shipment of products to domestic and international locations, preparing and processing all required documents and permits for shipping purposes, conduct quality inspections of shipments, and maintain records of all invoices and transactions. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that Aramex complies with all Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and all other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive relationship with the client by ensuring excellent, timely, and proactive customer service.
- Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, and customers via telephone and email.
- Take booking requests and export customer service calls.
- Ensure current buying/selling rates are set-up for every export shipment.
- Complete proper export documentation and send pre-alerts.
- Request documents from the shipper as required, this includes the power of attorney, commercial invoice, packing list, insurance certificate and SLI.
- Check the shipments in the warehouse as needed to ensure that the shipping documents correspond to the actual shipments.
- Create quotations for individual shipments, including prices for the shipper and selecting transportation companies to use.
- Review standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations, TSA, ISO, etc.
- Receive, review, and process high-volume and/or complex export transactions for client(s), including booking, documentation and billing.
- Process data through the company’s system, Cargowise, and submit shipment information to various government agencies as required.
- Process airway bills.
- Track and review shipping status to ensure timely departure/delivery of shipments; enter milestone data.
- Ensure shipments of hazardous materials are checked and processed in accordance with all applicable regulations under the International Air Transport Association and Code of Federal Regulations.
Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in freight forwarding / logistics (Preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must have a collaborative and team player approach.
- Basic English reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and technology.
- Hazardous Materials training in accordance with regulations.
- Knowledge of government regulations including but not limited to TSA, CBP, ITAR, and EAR.
- Good ethics and integrity.

Working Conditions:
Normal office work environment, with occasional warehouse visitation.
Occasional overtime requirements, at the discretion of the Supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the postholder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Vice President/CEO from time to time. Subject to adequate experience and/or training.
