Purpose of the Job

The Global Sourcing Manager based in China will serve as the procurement focal point for cost effective sourcing initiatives across the Aramex network. The role leverages the Chinese supplier market to support regional and global procurement teams in identifying manufacturers, conducting sourcing exercises, negotiating commercial terms, and facilitating direct procurement opportunities for delivery to other countries.

Job Description

• Act as the primary procurement bridge between Chinese manufacturers and Aramex entities globally, supporting regional and global procurement teams with China-based sourcing requirements.
• Lead the identification, qualification, factory assessment, and onboarding of Chinese manufacturers across key categories, including electric vehicles, fleet equipment, storage solutions, material-handling equipment, uniforms, packaging materials, furniture, and other operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain a preferred network of manufacturers and strategic suppliers, promoting direct manufacturer engagement and the adoption of global agreements to reduce intermediary costs and improve value realisation.
• Provide market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, cost analysis, and commercial recommendations to support sourcing decisions across the Aramex network.
• Lead global sourcing tenders, commercial evaluations, negotiations, supplier agreements, and contract renewals in collaboration with legal, finance, contracts, operational, and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-border sourcing activities, including requirements gathering, specification development, technical evaluations, ordering, logistics, and supplier performance management.
• Ensure that suppliers meet applicable quality, compliance, sustainability, risk management, and business continuity requirements.
• Any other procurement activities for Asia Pacific as required and directed by the Regional CEO – APAC or the manager.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

• At least seven years of procurement and strategic sourcing experience, including substantial experience working directly with Chinese manufacturers.
• Bachelor’s degree and an additional procurement qualification, such as CIPS or equivalent.
• Strong financial, commercial, and contractual acumen.
• Experience using SAP and Ariba modules.
• Demonstrated experience managing international sourcing projects and cross-border stakeholder engagement.
• Strong understanding of international trade, logistics, import and export considerations, and supplier risk management.
• Experience sourcing electric vehicles is desirable.
