Purpose of the Job

To supervise and manage end-to-end Land Freight operations, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transportation of shipments while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance with local and cross-border regulations. Act as a key point of contact for customers and coordinate effectively with transporters, trucking partners, agents, service providers, and internal stakeholders. Ensure competitive Land Freight solutions and rates, monitor operational performance, support customer retention and business growth, and drive continuous improvement across Land Freight operations. 

Job Description

• Supervise and manage end-to-end Land Freight operations, ensuring timely and efficient shipment execution.
• Provide competitive Land Freight solutions based on customer, shipment, and route requirements.
• Identify appropriate vehicle and equipment types according to operational requirements.
• Act as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
• Handle enquiries, quotations, and operational coordination with customers, transporters, agents, and partners.
• Coordinate with Sales and Pricing teams on quotations, RFQs, projects, and tenders.
• Negotiate competitive rates with transporters, trucking partners, agents, and service providers.
• Manage transporter and service provider relationships to ensure service availability and competitiveness.
• Monitor P&L, job costing, profitability, invoicing, and operational performance.
• Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve delays, claims, border issues, and service failures.
• Ensure customers are regularly updated on shipment status and operational issues.
• Monitor and improve on-time pickup and delivery performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely CargoWise shipment and milestone updates.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable local and cross-border regulations.
• Supervise and support the Land Freight operations team and drive continuous improvement in service quality and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the Land Freight / Road Freight Forwarding industry, preferably with supervisory or team-leading exposure.
• Strong knowledge of Land Freight operations, transportation routes, trucking solutions, and freight forwarding operations.
• Good understanding of local and cross-border transportation regulations, customs requirements, and operational procedures.
• Proven experience in customer service and managing key business accounts.
• Experience in rate negotiation with transporters, trucking partners, agents, and service providers.
• Good understanding of different vehicle and equipment types used in Land Freight operations.
• Experience with CargoWise is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional email correspondence.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
