Purpose of the Job

As an Air Freight Specialist at Aramex, you will be the driving force behind our efficient freight operations. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods, from initial quotes to final delivery. This includes navigating international regulations, maintaining clear communication, and upholding the highest standards of customer service.

Job Description

  • Execute import and export shipments from initial quote to final delivery, ensuring smooth and efficient movement of goods
  • Handle both LTL and FTL shipments, including hazardous materials following all required regulations
  • Arrange for the collection of Delivery Orders (DOs) and Bills of Lading (B/Ls)
  • Coordinate customs clearance procedures and ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and complete
  • Submit shipping instructions to relevant parties
  • Schedule both hazardous and non-hazardous shipments accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor and maintain a 100% update rate for milestones and status within CargoWise
  • Monitor supplier invoices and performance to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Complete job costing and billing tasks accurately
  • Maintain clear communication with suppliers and clients throughout the shipment process
  • Follow established company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain a well-motivated and independent work style, managing freight forwarding operations effectively
  • Collaborate with destination consignees to ensure smooth delivery
  • Independently handle pre- and post-shipment documents.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines to obtain Bill of Lading (BL) status and local charge updates
  • Work with brokers to manage payments and update payment receipts in the system
  • Facilitate communication with staff regarding customs clearance activities
  • Regularly follow up with clients on various shipment details like stuffing plans, vessel schedules, and BL copies
  • Coordinate with clients regarding dispatch of cargo
  • Collaborate with shipping lines, transporters, and operations staff for seamless execution
  • Maintain accurate records within CargoWise, including payment vouchers and supplier cash payments
  • Create transportation references within each CargoWise
  • Creation of truck consignment note, manifest and MAWB
  • Creation of bill of entry for export & import consignment

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or any other field
  • 3-4 years of relevant working experience in the Freight Forwarding industry
  • Experience in operations and broad knowledge of regulations
  • Cargowise experience preferred
  • Excellent MS office skills: Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Good commands in professional emails writing
