Ground Courier Leader (Giza)

 Job Purpose

 

 ORGANIZING, FACILITATING AND MONITORING THE WORK OF HIS TEAM OF COURIERS. COURIER LEADER SHOULD OFFER SUPPORT, & MANAGE THE TEAM TO PREVENT CONFLICTS AND RAISE THE PRODUCTIVITY, ALL WHILE BEING A ROLE-MODEL FOR THE COURIERS AND ENSURING A HIGH LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE.

 

 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

 

 

 Typical duties included are but not limited to:

a. Daily Morning (before leaving the station)

 

Prepare, Control, & monitor the process of courier morning dispatch to ensure all couriers are on their routes as scheduled to meet the delivery and collection service commitment:

 

1. Recheck the sorting of his team’s shipments.

2. Scan all shipments Out for Delivery according to their related routes, prepare and print run-sheets.

3. Check that couriers are carrying their scanners in the “scanner’s holster” and are working well.

4. Fill the daily couriers’ checklist to ensure that couriers’ appearance is complying with Aramex standards; adequate supplies are available in the vehicle and proper loading of shipments.

5. Ensure that ground courier designated vehicle has (installed) active scanner’s battery charger.

6. Check that all needed materials are available in the couriers’ bins and/or baskets, including the following:

 

ü Stickers

ü Door knobs

ü Flyers, vouchers and bags

ü Declaration letters

ü Window envelopes

ü Airway bills (Express, Domestic)

 Hand all shipments, corresponding run-sheets and scanners to the ground couriers in his team.

 Ensure the couriers leave the station on time.

 Leave after the last ground courier (of his team) leaves the station.

 

b. While on Route

 

 Perform the job of regular courier operations & manage the load of his team of couriers to ensure balanced & efficient operations on the ground.

 Perform regular courier operations.

 Balance the couriers’ load considering both pickups and deliveries.

 Perform the job of a floater at his area.

 

c. Daily Evening (After return to station)

 

 Manage the end of day reconciliation process with his team of couriers in coordination with warehouse operations, in order to take the necessary actions to the non-delivered shipments and/or missed collections due to unjustified related reasons.

 Return to the station before any of his team ground couriers.

 Physically check the returns and take the necessary action to attempt delivery again if possible.

 Solve all address related problems faced by his team.

 Report incidents, problems and general performance issues to ground operations supervisor.

 

 

d. Periodically

Structure, organize and manage the couriers and routes during regular working days and coordinate couriers’ vacations to ensure optimum & balanced distribution of work load amongst all routes.

 

a. Structure his team routes, specify them, and assign them to couriers.

b. Provide feedback on the route and load distributions to help the ground operations supervisor update the routes on the system.

c. Organize the team and manage ground courier substitution.

d. Participate with the ground operations supervisor in the annual evaluation for the ground couriers and help in setting annual increases and bonuses.

e. Decide on the skeleton staff.

f. Arrange couriers’ vacations in coordination with the ground operations supervisor.

 

 

 

 

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Client relations

 

  1. Report incidents and complaints to concerned Customers Team so that the team can take the necessary action to resolve the problem.

 

b. Report competition activities to concerned team in order to help in benchmarking the company service level with other companies in similar service industry.

 

 

Basic/ Job Requirements

 

 

 Bachelor Degree (Business / Logistics)

 Very Good Command of English Language

 MS Office applications (Word, Excel & Outlook)

 Local Knowledge of areas and neighborhood

 Valid driving license

  Analytical Skills
