We are currently expanding our growing team! We are a logistics and transportation company based in Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin, so own transport is essential for this role.

We are seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join our fast-paced team. Normal Hours of work: 

Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm and 1 in every 3 Saturdays 5am to 11am. 


Main Responsibilities:

  • Planning of domestic vehicles for Transport of Domestic, Road Freight & Logistics customers 
  • Monitoring of vehicle utilization, trunking performance and load planning
  • Work with the transport department to manage costs and work on weekly transport profit and loss report
  • Look at transport cost effectiveness and vehicle utilisation 
  • Price and negotiate rates with suppliers 
  • Look at solutions in the transport network and ways to maintain our service levels 
  • Manage transport administration and update collection/delivery status 
  • Monitor and deal with transport queries by liaising with other depots and departments
  • Proactively liaise with warehouse and drivers to ensure a high-quality service
  • Respond to enquiries and reported problems, bringing them to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Completion of data within Aramex systems in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
  • Processing of new job data as received from customers by mail, spreadsheet or EDI
  • Application of customer rates and supplier charges where required
  • Communicate with warehouse and yard man on in bound trailer arrivals and offloading process in line with customs procedures
  • Deal with calls from customers and drivers and assist in their enquiries
  • Handle customers shipment tracking enquiries in a professional manner
  • Relay customer service queries and issues to related teams and follow-up completion
  • Ensure transport routing and gps system is working being used at all times for distribution fleet based in Dublin


Required skills and experience:

  • 5 years plus Experience working in a senior transport role 
  • Cpc holder would be an advantage 
  • 3rd level qualification would be advantageous 
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and be accountable for tasks and actions
  • Knowledge of transport P&L and cost analysis in the market place 
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Must be able to work well under pressure 
  • Possess a positive outlook, promoting constructive responses to the challenges of work.
  • Flexibility to do shift work including weekends
