Normal hours of work are: Monday - Friday 9am- 5.30pm

 

Purpose of Job

 

The Senior Airfreight Operations Executive will act as the first point of contact for all shipping orders and enquiries and ensure that customer interactions are always handled in a proactive and professional manner. Airfreight Operations Executive will be expected to perform and complete daily operational tasks to meet and exceed customer expectations, in compliance with all relevant regulations and the targets of the Company.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The role is to handle the end-to-end process for all import and export Air shipments:-

  • Ensuring all shipments and customs requirements are handled according to company and international regulations.
  • Checking paperwork prior to the shipment being collected. This is to eliminate any controllable delays prior to the shipment moving.
  • React flexibly to deviation in shipments and ensuring the client, shipper and consignee are kept updated with shipment progress, collection, transit and delivery.
  • Gather comprehensive customer and shipment requirements to ensure we are meeting the customer needs in compliance with local and international regulations.
  • All SOPs and work instructions to be adhered to.
  • Ensuring all shipments are on schedule for timely collection/delivery.
  • Proactively monitor the status of shipments and identify and deal with any issues as they arise or escalate appropriately.
  • Book consignments with airlines or service providers timeously using on-line portal, email or phone.
  • Support & assist internal Aramex transportation and warehouse teams with day to day as required and use Azyra system for any transportation requests.
  • Create shipments on Aramex Cargowise System and to ensure all documents are dropped to edoc tab within each shipment for traceability.
  • Check rates and arrange billing of shipments to record profit margin on consignments.
  • Work with overseas offices/service providers to arrange pre-alert, collections, customs clearance, and deliveries as required.
  • Provide the customer with regular, accurate and timely updates on shipment status.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential

  • Full driving licence.
  • Must have 3-5 years experience of working within one or more of the following areas:

-Cold chain or time sensitive multimodal freight forwarding
-Airfreight import & export operations
-Pharmaceutical industry, ideally within logistics or related area and knowledge of reusable temperature-controlled packaging

  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills; Word and Excel
  • Valid IATA Dangerous goods and aviation security qualification
