Purpose of the Job
To analyze competitor pricing matched with market expectations to determine the ideal target price for freight products of the business. Duties include providing thorough analytical breakdowns of pricing structures and sales funnels of similar competitor products and services and identifying specific strategies used in pricing models of the same. Freight pricing executive assists and backups the sales and operations departments with rate requests and rate agreements.
Job Description
- Provide customers with estimates and prices standard that keeps our services competitive
- Understand and analyze the competitor pricing matched with market expectation to determine the ideal target price for all freight products
- Present solutions to customer, demonstrating values for business and goal alignment
- Identify and develop effective relationships with airlines, shipping lines and transportation suppliers to get the best price in term have a competing price for all freight products
- Keep pricing records for customers up to date, managing rate sheets and pricing database
- Ensure privacy and confidentiality of pricing data in line with data security policies in the company
- Report any information that might impact company image, brand, or functioning
- Facilitate the flow of information horizontally and vertically
- Set up KPIs and share it with direct manager
- Work together with multiple departments as needed to ensure prices standard that keep our service competitive
- Able to carry out procuring the best cost and selling negotiations, work with pricing tool or spreadsheets and run or participate in cost related meetings with airlines, shipping lines and suppliers
- Negotiate service contract freight rates and terms and conditions and respond to spot shipment rate requests and implement tariffs
- Prepare regular reports on status of inquiries either weekly or monthly on the list of inquiries win or lost
- Support the product development & Growth acceleration in terms of day-to-day ad hoc freight inquiries
- Develop and build solid relationships with carriers, agents, and counterparts, at all levels, seeking best fit to secure the necessary rates and space agreements
- Follow up with airlines / shipping lines for spot rates ex: reduction in rates on specific trade lane due to capacity issues
- Prepare reports to determine Transportation Cost Analysis based on and international carrier rates and operating cost, etc
- Engaging in research for the purpose of expanding personal and company knowledge of industry trends, best practices, marketing, and sales
- Ensure KPIs have been met direct report expectations.
- Increase Market share
- Effectively plan and allocate needed resourced to achieve the target.
This role will serve US based Client hence the working hours will be based on US timing.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business or any other field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in freight forwarding and logistics industries.
- Excellent MS office skills: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Strong English command.
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and drive success with minimum supervision.
- Strong Business Acumen and Industry knowledge.
