Purpose of the Job
The Senior Director of Industrial Engineering & Network Design is a pivotal leadership role responsible for transforming Aramex’s regional operating model. This position spearheads initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and financial optimization across multiple operational geographies, ensuring the network meets the demands of a dynamic logistics landscape.

Job Description
- Lead a comprehensive evaluation and redesign of Aramex’s regional operating model, defining clear roles and interfaces for hubs, facilities, and last-mile operations to optimize service delivery and network integration.
- Establish and implement standardized engineering and operational processes designed to modernize current workflows, enhance consistency, and promote best practices region-wide.
- Create and enforce robust governance structures that unify operational methodologies, ensuring harmonized practices and improved collaboration across diverse markets.
- Design and refine the fixed, variable, and semi-variable cost model to accurately allocate expenses and identify clear levers for cost optimization and financial performance enhancement.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive operational productivity metrics alongside dynamic performance dashboards to provide real-time visibility and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Champion strategic initiatives aimed at reducing cost-to-serve and enhancing cost-per-piece metrics by leveraging engineering insights and operational analytics.
- Define and enforce engineering standards for network planning inclusive of facility productivity targets, resource allocation strategies, and load/capacity modeling to maximize operational efficiencies.
- Support operational teams through process redesigns, load capacity charts, and engineering-backed performance planning tools that enable proactive resource and workflow management.
- Leverage data-driven scenario simulations and productivity analyses to underpin critical business decisions, promoting transparency and objective evaluation.
- Lead cultural transformation efforts to transition legacy operational mindsets towards agile, adaptive, and performance-focused behavioral models that align with strategic objectives.
- Exert influence and mobilize cross-functional, multi-country teams by building strong relationships, advocating for change, and fostering commitment to new operating principles without direct line authority.
- Communicate vision, progress, and outcomes of transformation initiatives clearly and consistently to stakeholders at regional and country levels to ensure alignment and sustained engagement.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is essential; master's level or higher qualifications in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related fields are preferred to demonstrate advanced expertise.
- Over 15 years of progressive experience in designing, implementing, or transforming operational and engineering models within logistics, transportation, or network-centric industries.
- Proven track record working in complex, multi-country environments, managing diverse teams and navigating regional regulatory and market nuances effectively.
- Deep expertise in operating model development, engineering planning disciplines, and continuous process improvement strategies within large-scale operations.
- Strong financial literacy with demonstrated experience building detailed cost frameworks, enabling sound budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Competency in developing and deploying KPI frameworks, productivity measurement models, and integrated performance dashboards that support operational excellence.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale change management and transformational initiatives with the ability to align diverse stakeholders and drive adoption.
- Exceptional influencing and interpersonal skills, capable of guiding cross-functional teams across regions without direct hierarchical control.
