Purpose of the Job
Build the analytical engine of the Revenue Management function across GCC and India by converting customer, shipment, revenue, margin and commercial data into actionable pricing insight, repeatable models and efficient Microsoft Office-based tools. The role will develop practical MVPs, automate recurring analysis and provide fact-based recommendations that improve price realization, profitability and commercial decision-making.
Job Description
Pricing analytics & performance insight
• Analyze customer, shipment, revenue, price, margin and operational datasets to identify price dispersion, profitability gaps, leakage and repricing opportunities.
• Develop repeatable views of yield, price realization, customer and lane economics, surcharge performance and commercial trends.
• Translate analysis into prioritized business actions, quantified opportunity sizes and concise recommendations for management.
Annual price management / GRI analytics
• Build and maintain an analytical GRI / annual price review cockpit covering addressable revenue, customer targets, negotiated increases, implementation status and realized like-for-like uplift.
• Develop customer-level target models using transparent internal factors such as profitability, contract history, shipment profile, prior price movement and approved commercial criteria.
• Create controls to distinguish nominal price actions from actual realized improvement and flag missed, delayed or under-realized increases.
Customer segmentation & ship-to-profile
• Develop practical customer segmentation and pricing archetypes using revenue, volume, profitability, product mix, shipment profile, service complexity and other relevant variables.
• Compare actual shipment behaviour with contracted or assumed profiles and flag material deviations in volume, weight, dimensions, lane mix, service mix, surcharge exposure or other cost drivers.
• Quantify the commercial impact of profile deviations and support repricing, surcharge activation or account-review decisions.
Pricing tools & MVP development
• Build robust Excel-based MVPs for GRI, customer profitability, surcharge leakage, tender support, price corridors, segmentation, exception monitoring and account review.
• Design models with clear inputs, controls, documentation and refresh logic so they can be operated reliably by the wider Revenue Management team.
• Standardize source files, calculation logic and output formats to reduce dependency on manual copy/paste processes.
Automation & data quality
• Use Microsoft 365 capabilities to automate data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, reconciliation and recurring reporting wherever practical.
• Establish data-quality checks, version control and auditability for key Revenue Management outputs.
• Document data requirements and analytical logic so proven MVPs can later be translated into enterprise systems or Heartbeat requirements.
Management information & decision support
• Produce concise dashboards and management views for the Revenue Management Manager, Director GCC & India and country stakeholders.
• Support strategic pricing and tender cases with fact-based analysis, scenario modelling and sensitivity testing.
• Communicate analytical findings in commercial language, clearly separating observation, hypothesis, financial impact and recommended action.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain or a related quantitative discipline.
• Typically 3–6 years of relevant experience in pricing analytics, revenue management, commercial analytics, business intelligence, commercial finance or a similar analytical role.
• Experience analysing large transactional datasets and turning them into commercial recommendations is essential.
• Logistics / transportation experience is advantageous but not mandatory; candidates from other data-intensive pricing environments are welcome.
• Fluent business English; ability to present analytical conclusions clearly to non-technical stakeholders is essential.
• Advanced-to-expert Microsoft Excel is critical, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS / COUNTIFS, dynamic arrays, structured tables, data validation, error controls and scenario modelling.
• Strong Power Query capability is a priority: importing, cleaning, merging, appending, unpivoting and refreshing multiple recurring data sources.
• Strong working knowledge of the Excel Data Model / Power Pivot and relational data concepts; basic DAX is highly desirable.
• Power Automate and/or Office Scripts experience is desirable for recurring workflow automation; VBA is useful but not a primary requirement.
• SQL knowledge is a strong advantage because it demonstrates comfort with tables, joins, keys, aggregation and data granularity, even if SQL is not immediately available in the current environment.
• Python or R is a nice-to-have rather than a requirement; priority is given to solutions that can be operated reliably within the approved Microsoft Office environment.
