Purpose of the Job

• Establishing Data Governance Frameworks: Develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks tailored to the unique needs of the supply chain and logistics operations. This includes defining data ownership, stewardship, accountability roles, and responsibilities to ensure proper data management throughout its lifecycle.
• Aligning with Business Demands: Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders within the supply chain and logistics domain to understand their data requirements and ensure data governance initiatives support their operational needs. Provide insights and recommendations to address data governance challenges and opportunities specific to the industry.
• Ensuring Data Quality: Implement data quality management processes to maintain high standards of data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Conduct data profiling, validation, cleansing, and monitoring to ensure reliable and trusted data, which is crucial for efficient supply chain and logistics operations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other industry-specific requirements. Develop and enforce data privacy policies and practices to safeguard sensitive information and meet regulatory requirements, thereby protecting the integrity of supply chain data.
• Data Policies and Standards: Develop, maintain, and communicate data governance policies, standards, and procedures that guide data management practices across the supply chain and logistics operations. Ensure these policies are effectively enforced and aligned with business objectives.

• Data Stewardship and Accountability: Establish and manage data stewardship programs to ensure that data is properly managed and maintained. Assign data stewards within the supply chain and logistics teams and provide training and support to enhance their data governance capabilities.
• Data Security and Privacy: Implement robust data security measures to protect data assets from unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats. Ensure data privacy policies are adhered to and that data is handled in accordance with regulatory requirements, especially considering the sensitivity of supply chain data.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve data governance practices to enhance data quality, compliance, and overall effectiveness. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure Aramex remains at the forefront of data governance within the supply chain and logistics sector.
• Data Governance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain data governance metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor the effectiveness of data governance initiatives. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on data governance performance and progress, ensuring that governance practices support the strategic goals of the supply chain and logistics operations.

Job Description

• Strong experience in data governance, data quality management, and data protection regulations.
• Experience in establishing a data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards for data management.
• Familiarity with data catalog and metadata management tools and practices
• Strong experience with data management and governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Experience with data governance tools and technologies such as Collibra, Informatica, Purview or similar platforms.
• Knowledge an Experience of working with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Certifications in data governance and management tools and techniques such as CDMP, CIMP, or similar.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with industry-standard data governance methodologies and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment with a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Experience in implementing data governance frameworks, quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical concepts into business insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
