Purpose of the Job

The Head of Engagement and Delivery leads the strategic oversight and successful execution of digital projects within Aramex, driving innovation and operational excellence across multiple teams and platforms. This pivotal role is focused on nurturing strong stakeholder relationships, identifying opportunities for digital advancement, and spearheading digital transformation initiatives that align with the company’s business objectives.

The role demands collaboration with cross-functional divisions and corporate departments to deeply understand business challenges and leverage cutting-edge digital solutions. This includes managing customer-facing platforms such as Aramex.com and various e-commerce integrations, supporting the digital growth of the organization. The position champions efficiency and cost optimization through automation and digitization, aiming to enhance customer experiences and streamline decision-making processes.

Job Description

Customer Focus:

  • Define and implement strategies that accurately capture customer objectives and digital needs, ensuring alignment across diverse and senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to translate business requirements into effective digital solutions, ensuring delivery excellence exceeding expectations.
  • Leverage feedback loops to continuously enhance digital products and e-commerce platform integrations, maintaining market relevance and user satisfaction.
  • Build enduring relationships with customers and stakeholders to foster trust and facilitate ongoing innovation.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, inspire, and support a diverse, high-performing cross-functional team comprising Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and Planning Analysts to achieve shared goals.
  • Promote an inclusive and collaborative culture that nurtures professional growth, innovation, and accountability.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and mentor team members to maximize their contributions and career development.
  • Partner with agile development teams, providing strategic direction and prioritization to ensure efficient delivery.

Project Management:

  • Guide the entire project lifecycle from initial discovery and requirements gathering through to deployment and post-launch optimization.
  • Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap aligned with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release management to drive product development velocity.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively while managing timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with project management frameworks such as Agile and Scrum, applying best practices across teams.

Operations and Efficiency:

  • Optimize operational workflows to maximize productivity and resource allocation across project teams.
  • Implement advanced tools and technologies to streamline collaboration and enhance overall team performance.
  • Oversee the seamless integration of digital products with a broad range of e-commerce platforms, ensuring consistent user experience.
  • Monitor financial performance of projects, managing budgets prudently to achieve financial targets.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to elevate delivery standards and operational excellence.

Financial Stewardship:

  • Participate actively in IT budget planning and represent departmental needs effectively.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers for software, hardware, and technology services, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and analyze project budgets, providing transparent financial reporting to senior leadership.
  • Ensure financial decisions support the strategic objectives and sustainability of the organization.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration, or a closely related field, providing a strong foundation in both technical and management disciplines.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ extensive experience within the digital technology sector, particularly emphasizing website and web application development and management.
  • Proven track record in senior leadership or management roles encompassing project delivery, client engagement, and team leadership within complex digital environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in steering cross-functional teams to deliver sophisticated digital solutions on schedule and within financial limits.
  • Strong command of Agile methodologies (including Scrum and Kanban) with hands-on experience implementing these frameworks in organizational settings.
  • Substantial experience as a Digital Product Owner or Product Manager, with preference for candidates from logistics, transportation, or e-commerce domains.
  • In-depth knowledge of leading e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WordPress, Magento, OpenCart, and PrestaShop.
  • Professional certifications like PSPO, CSPO, PMP, or equivalent certifications that validate project and product management proficiency are highly desirable.
  • Experience in managing and improving customer-centric digital platforms, including customized e-commerce plugins.
  • Comfortable working with diverse, multidisciplinary teams consisting of UX designers, business analysts, software developers, and quality assurance experts.
  • Up-to-date with contemporary digital technologies, web development frameworks, and industry standards.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders across organizational hierarchies.
  • Proven relationship management skills, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in dynamic business environments.
  • Experience navigating the complexities of large, global organizations with multi-sourced IT service models.
  • Sound supply chain knowledge and expertise supporting digital transformations within operational contexts.
