Purpose of the Job
To ensure the efficient management of logistics operations, facilitating the movement of goods from suppliers to customers and vice versa. This role involves coordinating transportation, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records of shipments and deliveries. Logistics Administrator works to optimize supply chain processes, track order status, and ensure compliance with regulations, ultimately contributing to timely and cost-effective delivery of products while enhancing customer satisfaction.
Job Description
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations.
- Prepare and maintain logistics reports for management review.
- Coordinate and manage the logistics of transportation and shipping of goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track stock levels.
- Schedule and oversee deliveries, ensuring timely arrival of shipments.
- Communicate with customers regarding order status and logistics issues.
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to optimize storage and retrieval of goods.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Assist in Conducting regular audits of inventory and logistics processes to identify discrepancies.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide support for logistics-related projects and initiatives.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to shipping and delivery.
- Participate in meetings with suppliers and stakeholders to enhance logistics operations.
- Implement technology solutions to improve logistics and supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage or loss.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation roles.
- Familiarity with logistics software and supply chain management systems.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and transportation laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and vendors.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports related to logistics performance.
- Understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Experience with freight forwarding and carrier management is a plus.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management is preferred but not required.
