Purpose of the Job
Responsible for overseeing and managing daily operational activities within the company. Job Description
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operations.
- Ensure that vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
- Track and manage budgets related to operations, including labor and transportation costs.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to operational staff.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage.
- Liaise with external vendors and logistics providers to ensure service quality.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for all operational activities.
- Manage reverse logistics processes for returns and damaged goods.
- Prepare reports on operational performance for senior management.
- Support the development and training of team members to improve skills and productivity.
- Oversee daily operations across logistics, transportation, and warehousing.
- Supervise and lead teams of operations staff, including drivers and warehouse workers.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers.
- Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure operational efficiency.
- Implement process improvements to optimize workflows.
- Coordinate with various departments such as sales, customer service, and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Manage the scheduling and dispatch of transportation resources.
- Handle and resolve operational issues, delays, and customer complaints.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in operations management, logistics, or supply chain supervision.
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Knowledge of logistics and transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with supply chain processes, including inventory management, distribution, and shipping.
- Experience in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to manage budgets and control operational costs.
- Experience in performance monitoring and reporting, including the use of KPIs.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in logistics and transportation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for reporting and analysis.
- Ability to adapt to changing operational demands and handle high-pressure situations.
