Purpose of the Job

As a Senior Freight Operations Leader at Aramex, you will oversee and enhance the overall freight operations strategy, ensuring optimal efficiency in shipment handling and delivery while fostering strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams. This strategic leadership role requires a proven track record in logistics management, operational excellence, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description

  • Ensure daily follow-up on outstanding duty collections for incoming shipments, driving timely processing and compliance.
  • Strategically manage the time and productivity of direct reports and outsourced staff to reduce operational overheads while enhancing service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, including airlines, ocean lines, trucking companies, and packing providers, to ensure optimal handling and competitive pricing.
  • Guarantee immediate and effective responses to customer management teams (CMTs) to address their requirements and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor the freight operations team, ensuring high performance and alignment with company objectives through effective training and development programs.
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for direct reports, conducting regular performance reviews to assess achievements and foster professional growth.
  • Oversee communication with carriers to ensure shipments are received and dispatched according to schedule, addressing any issues proactively.
  • Engage with the operations team at various gateways (airports, seaports, land borders) to ensure incoming and outgoing shipments meet quality policies and procedures.
  • Implement and oversee corrective and preventive action plans to address operational challenges, driving continuous improvement within the freight operations.
  • Uphold company Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards, ensuring all operations comply with corporate policies and sustainability initiatives.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is typically required.
  • 5-7 years in freight operations, logistics, or supply chain management, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities and leadership roles.
  • Strong expertise in supply chain processes, freight management, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in freight management software and analytics tools.
