Purpose of the Job

Job Description

• Manage daily middle mile transportation operations between hubs and sorting facilities.
• Ensure on-time dispatch and arrival of linehaul vehicles and shipments.
• Monitor transportation KPIs including transit time, utilization, cost per shipment, and service performance.
• Coordinate with operations, warehouse, fleet, and customer service teams to ensure smooth shipment flow.
• Optimize routes, capacity planning, and truck utilization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead and supervise transportation vendors, drivers, and operational teams.
• Handle operational escalations and resolve transportation issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and transportation regulations.
• Analyze operational data and prepare performance reports for management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and team performance within the middle mile operation.
• Ensure contingency plans are in place for delays, peak periods, and emergencies.
