Global Head of IT Operations

Purpose of the Job

The global Head of IT Operations role assumes a central position in steering our organization's technological evolution toward achieving strategic objectives.

Leadership is instrumental in orchestrating a seamless integration of technological innovation and operational excellence, ensuring that the IT infrastructure not only serves as a supportive backbone but also acts as a catalyst for growth and competitive advantage.

The mission leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment among our diverse team of IT professionals, which includes experts from IT Operations specialists and engineers, Security Operations Center (SOC), and Network Operations Center (NOC). Through strategic direction and mentorship, you will inspire them to deliver exceptional service, ensuring the integrity and security of our digital assets while maximizing operational efficiency.

Job Description

Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders globally to understand diverse business needs and priorities.
Translate global business insights into actionable IT initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with regional requirements.
Facilitate effective communication channels between IT teams and stakeholders worldwide to -address concerns and optimize IT solutions.
Lead and develop a multinational team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Provide strategic guidance and support to specialized teams across different regions, promoting harmony and synergy in pursuit of shared objectives.
Implement talent development programs and initiatives to address skill gaps and enhance technical competencies globally.
Develop and execute a comprehensive IT operations strategy tailored to meet the diverse needs of a global organization.
Oversee the design, deployment and maintenance of resilient and scalable IT infrastructure and systems to support business operations worldwide.
Establish and enforce robust IT policies, standards, and procedures globally to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Monitor and manage service level agreements(SLAs)across regions, addressing deviations and implementing corrective actions to maintain consistent service delivery.
Coordinate global change management activities, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions to IT operations.
Lead global incident response efforts in collaboration with SOC and NOC teams, ensuring timely resolution of security incidents and compliance with regulatory obligations.
Develop and maintain comprehensive global disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring readiness to mitigate risks and minimize downtime in the event of disruptions or disasters.
Manage global contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon terms and conditions, and optimizing cost efficiency.
Conduct regular reviews of IT expenditures and vendor contracts to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the global IT operations teams, encouraging innovation, process optimization, and the adoption of best practices. Implement mechanisms for ongoing performance measurement, feedback, and refinement to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among IT teams across different regions, promoting a cohesive global approach to problem-solving and project execution. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure seamless integration of IT solutions with business processes and objectives.
Ensure consistent adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards across all regions of operation. Establish global governance frameworks and compliance protocols to mitigate risks and maintain the integrity and security of IT systems and data.
Lead efforts to enhance the security posture of the organization's IT infrastructure on a global scale. This involves overseeing the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures, conducting regular risk assessments, and developing proactive strategies to mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities.
Develop and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations on a global scale, optimizing cost-effectiveness and value realization.
Conduct a thorough analysis of global IT expenditures to identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency enhancements.
Implement initiatives to optimize IT service delivery globally, streamline workflows,and optimize resource utilization, maximizing financial performance.

Job Responsibilities - Experience and Education

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in IT principles and practices.

12+ years of progressive experience in IT, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing global teams and infrastructure. Deep technical expertise in areas such as network architecture, cloud computing, and IT service management.

Extensive technical expertise in key areas such as network architecture, cloud computing, and IT service management, enabling effective decision-making and problem-solving in complex IT environments.

Proven track record of spearheading large-scale IT transformation initiatives and delivering operational excellence, showcasing the ability to drive strategic change and achieve measurable results.

Strong strategic planning and execution skills, adept at aligning IT initiatives with overarching business goals and priorities, ensuring IT investments contribute to organizational success.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, facilitating effective collaboration and influence across diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, enabling proactive identification and resolution of IT challenges.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.

Possession of relevant certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, AWS, and advanced degrees, highly desirable, indicating a commitment to professional development and expertise in specialized areas of IT management.
