Purpose of the Job

The Facilities Supervisor (Engineer) will be the technical lead responsible for managing the design, planning, and execution of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) and building infrastructure works for new Dark Stores.

Job Description

  • Design, review and approve technical designs, specifications, and drawings submitted by external Architecture/Engineering (A/E) firms for all facility systems (e.g., power distribution, HVAC, lighting, security, and material handling interfaces).
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, fire regulations, environmental standards, internal engineering specifications and operational requirements for a high-volume fulfillment environment.
  • Aligning with the procurement and project management teams to define the project scope, estimate costs, and manage the technical bill of quantities (BOQ) for all facility-related scopes.
  • Provide on-site technical supervision and quality assurance for all facility installation work, including site preparation, civil works, structural modifications, and complex MEP/FP system installations.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for General Contractors and specialty vendors. Conduct regular site inspections, chair technical progress meetings, and ensure work quality meets contractual agreements.
  • Monitor project schedules closely and proactively identify and mitigate technical risks or roadblocks that could impact the dark store's launch date.
  • Manage the technical review and approval process for all design changes, Request for Information (RFIs), and submittals during the construction phase.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans for all critical facility systems (e.g., power, cooling, fire suppression) to ensure full functionality and reliability before launch.
  • Ensure the accurate collection and organization of final project documentation, including As-Built drawings, Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and warranty documentation.
  • Facilitate a smooth transfer of the facility to the local Operations and Maintenance teams, including conducting final walk-throughs and providing necessary system training.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in facilities engineering, construction project management, or technical supervision for industrial, logistics, or commercial construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing the design and implementation of MEP/FP systems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents (AutoCAD knowledge is must).
  • Strong understanding of local and international building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
  • Prior experience in the design or implementation of e-commerce, fulfillment center, or warehouse facilities.
  • Experience in a multi-site, managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with automated material handling systems and their associated power and control requirements.
